Block of the Month 2014...

I have spent the day today working on this years new Block of the Month. Not sure of its name yet, but I know that will come to me soon. It has taken a few months to get this far unfortunately, (the heat here in Melbourne has been my excuse :) and I'm sticking to that!). Today was a perfect sewing day.

I started the morning with a finished (at last) centre block, just needed a little trimming to be done. Very happy with the end result! These fabrics are simply perfect for fussy cutting.

Then I added this mixture of blocks. The BOM this year features fabric from 'Peace and Plenty' by Judie Rothermel. The colours are a little different to my usual colour palette, but they have come together very nicely. A challenge is good!

And as the day has moved on the smaller blocks were added to the centre. By the end of the good light today all of the blocks were stitched in place. The only thing left to do is cut the borders and a good press! Oh, and of course another photo.

Until next time,

Too much fun!

We are having too much fun working on these Lucy Boston blocks. Everyday there seems to be someone new coming in with a different colour way or layout! This is one of Shirley's gorgeous blocks. Have a close look at the fussy cut centre.

I have had lots and lots of requests for another Lucy class - Sue has agreed to host another stitching day on Saturday 1st March. If you are interested please let me know by calling the shop on (Melb) 03 9807 3399 and put your name on the list.

I have been working on my project bag again this week. The front is finished and the back is all decided, just have to attach the selvedge strip to the pocket. How do you like Sue's bag in the background? The squares are very beautiful too!

Keep stitching,
